As an educator, I saw the difficulties that children and their families faced when immigrating to the United States. Immigrants must meet the burden of proof in order to benefit and contribute to life here in the United States; this often means providing evidence of psychological distress. A psychological evaluation or expert testimony can help provide that evidence.
The Process
Typically, an evaluation consists of a one-on-one interview followed by a number of psychological instruments to assess your current symptoms. These instruments are paper pencil questionnaires that we will go through together.
After the evaluation, I will score and interpret the results from the instrument. I will then use the information from the interview and the interpreted results to write a narrative that is used to draft a report. That report will then be sent to you, or the attorney handling your case.
But Why a Psychological Evaluation?
There are a number of reasons why a psychological evaluation would be helpful or required to move forward with immigration proceedings. I will work tirelessly with your attorney, and consult those with more experience than I have, in order to help you.
If your attorney suggested that you obtain a report of a psychological evaluation, you’ve come to the right place.
